Opening Credits.

Commentary: Welcome to Smackdown, and we open with Breaking News, after the mysterious assault last week on World Champion John Cena, he has been ruled out of action for an indefinite period of time, which means the World Championship has been vacated............later in the show Smackdown GM Teddy Long will address that situation.......................also there's still no news on why both Kurt Angle & Gail Kim made appearances last week..............and combined with the recent similar incidents on Monday Night Raw, everyone is awaiting an explanation...............

But right now it would appear we don't have to wait, as Teddy Long comes out to address the World Championship scene................

Promo: Teddy Long is about to tell everyone his plans, but he is interrupted by the arrival of  Alberto Del Rio..........................

Alberto struts down to the ring, and claims that now Teddy can right the wrong decisions he has made for the last months by awarding him the World Championship...................since the no compete clause is invalid since Cena is no longer Champion.....................

Teddy feels that Cena's injury is very convenient for Alberto....................and now The Big Show interrupts Teddy Long.................and Big Show believes he should be awarded the World Title, because if Cena hadn't endangered his life by pushing him off the cell, he would be the World Champion right now............

Teddy Long though reveals that he is not AWARDING the Title to anyone, starting tonight, there will be an 8 Man Tournament, and the Winner will be crowned at Survivor Series, and Big Show & Del Rio are in the Tournament...............

Backstage: Tag Team Champions, Stone Cold & Big E are with Renee Young, tonight Steiner & Mahal will face The Outsiders for the right to face the Tag Champions at Survivor Series, do the Champs have a preferential opponent?

The vanswer is a straight foreward no, because whoever it is, is in for some serious ass-whipping..............

Coming up Next it's our first World Championship Tournament match as Triple H takes on Brock Lesnar

This match up was so even, both Superstars were putting on a show.........

Mid Match: But then Del Rio turned up at ringside, sliding a chair into the ring, Del Rio then attracted the referee's attention, as the referee went to ensure Del Rio didn't interfere, Lesnar took hold of the chair and delivered a vile shot to Triple H, Del Rio meanwhile stepped away from ringside allowing the referre who was oblivious to what just occured to put his mind back on the match..........

Backstage: Kurt Angle is back again, and this time he's ambushed Scott Hall...............

Big Show v CM Punk

Winner: Big Show via Pinfall.

Backstage: Renee Young has the Women's Championship Number 1 Contender with her Brie Bella...........

Brie aims to win back the Women's Title and then relinquish Layla of her re-match by defeating her in her first Title defense...........But just as the Interview is ending, suddenly she is attacked from behind by................Gail Kim!!!!!!

2 Weeks straight now, Gail Kim has assaulted members of the Diva Division............. 

Scott Hall & X-Pac (The Outsiders) v Scott Steiner & Jinder Mahal

Tag Team Number 1 Contenders

Winners: Scott Steiner & Jinder Mahal via Pinfall (Jinder pinned Scott Hall).

Post Match: X-Pac was sent flying into the steps by Steiner which allowed Jinder to deliver a further beatdown on Hall in the middle of the ring, and just as Steiner was preparing to join in.............the sound of glass shattering. and Stone Cold & Big E ran down to the ring, at this moment Steiner & Mahal made a subtle escape.............allowing Stone Cold & Big E to help Hall back to his feet...........

Next up after the break.........Finally Alberto Del Rio is back in the World Championship picture.............

CM Punk is in the corridor, possibly mulling over his defeat earlier, when suddenly Paul Heyman appears...............he commiserates Punk on his defeat earlier, before going on to claim that he justr can't get a break in the WWE, but what can he do, he works for a company that unappreciates his talent, and there's nobody else around for him to join...................then after that cryptic message he wanders off, leaving Punk bewildered............but clearly thoughtful.............

Alberto Del Rio w/ Ricardo Rodriguez v Matt Hardy

Winner: Matt Hardy via Count Out.

Post Match: In a turn of events, after Del Rio had dragged Hardy out of the ring to inflict serious harm, Triple H arrived and caused a distraction as payback for Del Rio's interference earlier, this distraction allowed Mat Hardy to hit him with the Twist of Fate...............

In a fit of rage, Del Rio snatched up a microphonme and started demanding the match be re-started due to Triple H's influence............but no one comes out to re-start the match.............and then from out of nowhere Del Rio falls victim to an attack from NXT competitors The Motor City Machine Guns...............clearly after payback for the assault on them from this past NXT episode................

and now Teddy Long comes out...........with all that's been happening lately, Teddy demands that Sabin & Shelley who are not contracted to WWE kindly leave the arena, he understands their frustrations, but as GM, it is his duty to look out for the Smackdown Superstars.............

Backstage: Daniel Bryan walks in on Mark Henry, he tells Mark that he can try all the tricks including getting someone to ambush him during a match like last week, but it won't stop him taking the Intercontinental Title off him at Survivor Series, and giving it back it's credibility.............

Mark once again denies having anything to do with last week, and points out that fellow Society Member Randy Orton was laid out too, besides if he wanted Bryan taken out..........he'd do it himself.....................

Next up the Final match of the 1st round in the World Championship Tournament............

Chris Jericho v Kofi Kingston

Mid Match: Once again the arena lights go off, and there's another commotion in the ring, after a while the lights come back on, and again the persons responsible are nowhere to be seen............however this time both Jericho & Kofi are missing as well...................

Winner: No Contest.
