Commentary: Following the closure to last weeks show with Cody Rhodes causing the Double DQ in the match between Miz & McIntyre to determine the next challenger to his WWE Title, after much discussion in WWE Headquarters, we will find out tonight, what will result from those actions............
As well as that, we have in ring action with the return of Abyss, aiming to put Wrestlemania behind him and restart his path of destruction............as well as in the Womens Division, Lita will take on Katie Lea,,,,,,,,,,,,
Prromo: But first out strides Raw GM Stephanie McMahon.................and she gets straight to the point, WWE Headquarters have decided that at WWE Payback, Cody Rhodes will defend the WWE Title against..............The Miz....................and Drew McIntyre in a Triple Threat Match.
This announcement brought out the WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, clearly agitated he made the claim that Miz & McIntyre failed last week to earn a Title Shot, he also claims that he is the best Champion WWE has ever had, and that he has not got the respect that he deserves, as such he straight up refuses to defend his Title at Payback.....................
but Stephanie is having none of it, she tells him to earn respect, stop demanding it, and that he WILL defend his Title at Payback, or he'll be stripped of the Title.................she also informs him that he'll be in action next week in a Non Title match against..............The Miz.
Cody as a result storms to the back in a huff.
Backstage: Ryback walks in on Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara................
he thanks them for their assistance last week, and wishes them luck for later tonight when they face British Invasion, however he also insists on being in their corner to balance out the inevitable presence of Wade Barrett.....................
Lita v Katir Lea
Mid Match: Trish Stratus stormed down to ringside in an attempt to distract Lita, however her plan was foiled by the arrival of Jade who cut her off and proceeded to force Trish away.
Winner: Katie Lea via Pinfall.
Backstage: Wade Barrett is seen talking with Doug Williams, when McIntyre walks in..............Williams duly exits the room, as Barrett stumbling slightly over his words, asks McIntyre how he's feeling.
McIntyre responds that he's irate........................at the fact that Barrett didn't prevent Cody from interfering in his match last week.
Barrett points out though that McIntyre still has a Title Match..............and he has faith in Drew that he can still emerge victorious at Payback................he then also leaves the room.
Backstage Interview: Renee Young is joined by the returning Edge, now fully recovered from his Unsanctioned match with A J Styles at Extreme Rules.
Edge explains that he's not here to make up the numbers, he's not here to make other Superstars look good, he's here to win Championships, since he lost the WWE Title at Royal Rumble he allowed himself to get distracted from that goal, but no longer, now while he has missed the window for a shot at the Title at Payback, he;s looking toward next month, because next month is Money in the Bank, and as a 3 time Money in the Bank Winner, he's looking to make it four!!
Next up it's the return of the Monster Abyss!!!!!

Backstage Interview: With Renee at this time, The Miz............................In response to the earlier news that Miz will get a Title shot against Cody Rhodes AND Drew McIntyre, Miz claims that he has a response, but that response will be done in the middle of the ring in front of the entire WWE Universe.
And with that Miz strides out to the ring..............but just as he gets to the bottom of the rampway, he is ambushed from behind by Cody Rhodes sending him careening into the steel steps, before sending him into the ring and hitting him with the Cross-Rhodes................
Cody stands tall on this occasion......
Backstage: Trish Stratus confronts Jade for her actions earlier tonight...............she warns Jade to stay out of her business.
Jade claims that she has no intention of standing by and allowing Trish to cheap shot Lita, especially since Trish still hasn't accepted Lita's career vs career match.............
Trish then replies she can't decide the best time to end Lita's career, but she can end Jades in a heartbeat.................
to which Jade responds fine, next week try and end her career in the ring...............
Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara w/Ryback v British Invasion (Magnus & Doug Williams) w/ Wade Barrett
Mid Match: Ryback was ejected by the referee after he lost his temper one time too many due to Wade Barretts interference,
Winners: Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara via Pinfall by Rey Mysterio on Doug Williams.
Post Match: Ryback made his way back to the ring to stand beside Rey & Sin Cara, then he addresses Wade Barrett to inform him that he is so desperate to get Barrett in the ring 1 on 1, he's willing to put the United States Title on the line at Money in the Bank...............but that's not all Ryback will also get a 1 on 1 match with Barrett in 2 weeks time, but in order to get that match, he had to agree to a stipulation...........and that stipulation, whoever wins gets to name the type of match for Money in the Bank!!
GM Office: Having just heard the news that John Cena would be returning tonight, and would be facing Scott Hall, he questions Stephanie why she didn't inform him of this, considering she is his wife and they are a team.
Stephanie replies that he is her husband as long as Monday Night Raw is not ongoing, when it is, he is her employee........nothing more................she was a McMahon first and with that name business always comes first..............
also the match between Scott Hall & Cena will be one on one, Triple H is banned from ringside..................
Backstage Interview: Returning to WWE for the first time since his defeat at Extreme Rules........A J Styles.
Styles claims the match against Edge was unsanctioned, not in the record books, never happened............so A J will now move on to WWE Gold..............
At this point, Renee brings up Samoa Joe, who after learning the truth from Zach Ryder last week, has been actively seeking out Styles.
On hearing this news A J claims that if Joe wants him, he knows where to find him...............however his body language tells the complete opposite.............
And coming up next, it's time for some payback............
John Cena v Scott Hall
Winner: John Cena via Pinfall.
Post Match: Having been laid out by Cena's Attitude Adjustment, Hall was completely unaware of R-Truth making his way to the ring and laying on top of his prone body.
With encouragement from John Cena the referee made the 3 count.............R-Truth was once again the Hardcore Champion.........
Promo: And so with the celebrations over, Cena gets serious, remarking on the fact that it was Triple H's wife.....................sorry, boss that made the decision to ban Triple H from ringside, and that since Cena couldn't get Payback on Triple H tonight, then he;ll have to get it at the fortuitously named Pay per View..................PAYBACK,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,which can be a BITCH, much like Triple H himself.............
Backstage:A J Styles is seen talking with a backstage staff member, when suddenly the staff member points behind A J and then runs off................A J turns round and comes face to face with Samoa Joe............................who wastes no time in demanding his money,
A J backs away then turns and runs, Joe shakes his head in disapproval and chases after him.............
In ring Promo: Diva's Champion Melina demands some respect from the WWE Universe, which is met with a cacophony of jeers,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,she continues though claiming that her Star Power brings attention to the Diva's Title, something that no other Woman has ever done....................however just then out stride The Bella Twins..................
and Nikki is tired of Melina's diatribe, Nikki has a Title shot, which she will cash in at the Pay per View that will hurt Melina most when she loses the Title...................Money in the Bank!!
At this point Brie chimes in telling Melina how Nikki will decimate her going into extreme detail about the pain & suffering that will take place..............much to the shock of Nikki and everyone present,
Backstage: We return backstage where Samoa Joe has A J trapped in the Parking Bay................A J quickly talks...................claiming that he & Joe are of the same ilk, they are wrestlers.............they don't need Money, they do this for Championships, which is why Joe should forget about the money and put his mind back to the WWE Title...................
however this has no effect, Joe wants his money or A J's head on a pike.....................
Once again A J speaks, he tells Joe that fine, he'll get the money....................and then out of the blue sucker punches Joe...............this gives A J the opportunity to get away, jump in his car and speed out of the arena...............Joe climbs back to his feet, now it's clear.............Joe is gonna kill A J................
The camera then pans away, and in a dark corner of the parking Bay we notice Wade Barrett & British Invasion in deep discussion.........
And now it's time for the Main Event as Beer Money defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against Primo & Eoico...............
